Feb 24, 2022

Theresa "Teece" Jo Chouinard, 60, of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away on Feb. 24, 2022, from COVID-19 complications at Alaska Regional Hospital. She was born in Anchorage to the late Theo Faye Skulstad (Malutin) and Alphonse Lee Chouinard on April 12, 1961. Theresa graduated from West Anchorage High School in 1979, and attended business college shortly after. She retired as an administrative assistant for Southcentral Foundation Audiology, where she loved serving her Alaska Native community for 16 years.

Theresa had a passion for music; she was in her high school choir and often sang with her siblings during family jam sessions. She cherished many adventures traveling and baking with her daughter. She was a compassionate woman that would often "pay it forward" and support her friends and family. Theresa adored the natural beauty of Alaska and loved going on adventures to Girdwood, Seward, Kodiak and Kenai.

Some of her favorite quotes were "Never settle" and "Go where the people dance." Although Theresa struggled with rheumatoid arthritis and pulmonary fibrosis most of her life, her faith guided her through it. Her life was full of gratitude, laughter and love. She is survived by her daughter, Sarai Lynn Etheridge; son, Johnny Ray Marsh; sisters, Barbara Ackerman, Joan Hendrickson and Anne Pfeifer; and brothers, Tom, Frederick and Robert Chouinard.

The service for Theresa will be held at Janssen Evergreen Memorial Chapel in Anchorage on March 10, 2022, at 1 p.m.
