Hugh Orman Short Sr., 97, passed away in his home in Anchorage, Alaska, on Aug. 10, 2022.

Hugh was born to parents Fay Sherman Short and Ethel Margarite Short in Burns Lake, B.C., Canada, on Aug. 6, 1925. He was a retired cab business owner of Alaska Cab in Bethel, Alaska.

There will be a service on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022, at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E Street, Anchorage, AK 99501.

Hugh is survived by his wife, Millie Short; daughter, Velda (Lance) Miller; son, Kevin Short; son, Hugh Short Jr. (Trina); son, Randy Engler; daughter, Vanessa Kirby; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by sister, Hazel Lee; brother, Fay Short; brother, Innes Short; and parents, Fay Sherman Short and Ethel Margaurite Short.
