Janell passed away at Whiskey Lake, Alaska, on Sept. 25, 2022, just one day shy of her 68th birthday.
Janell was born in Eau Claire, Wis., and moved to Anchorage, Alaska, with her family in 1965. She was a graduate of West High School. class of 1972, recently celebrating the class's 50th reunion. She retired after many years as a sales representative. Most recently, her career was as a flooring sales rep. Upon retiring, she took a year to travel and to be a snowbird with her husband Stephen before deciding to reside year-round at their cabin on Whiskey Lake. Janell enjoyed aviation, fast cars, hunting, fishing, camping and travel. She rarely sat still.
Janell was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Anderson; mother, Mae Ellwood Anderson; and brother, Curtis Anderson.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Rude; son, Aaron (Tamara) Delahoussaye of Nevada; grandchildren, Kaden and Hannah Delahoussaye of Nevada; stepdaughter, Chelsea Rude of Colorado; mother-in-law, Judith Nielson of Colorado; brother-in-law, David (Stacey) Rude of Washington; Robert (Astrid) Rude of Washington; niece, Melissa Carey of Anchorage; nephew, Chris Anderson of Wasilla, Alaska; aunt, Mary Snyder of Wisconsin; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Wisconsin.
Arrangements were made by the Cremation Society of Alaska, www.alaskacremation.com.
A Celebration of Life is being hosted at the Alaska Aviation Museum, Odom Building, on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, beginning at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the museum in Janell's memory.
