Herdie C. Estell, longtime resident of Anchorage, Alaska, peacefully passed away at home on Nov. 16, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022, at Lil Babes Bar and Grill, 3515 Mountain View Drive in Anchorage, from 5-8 p.m.
He was a gentle man, a man's man, second to none! A loving father, brother, son, uncle, cousin, nephew and, if you were fortunate enough to be called a friend, that meant something: you were a part of his family. There was never a dull moment with his family around. Always a funny story to tell, a song in his heart, and wise words to ease a soul.
The beloved father is survived by seven children: Antionne Murray Sr. (wife Yvonne and children Antionne Murray II., Carlos Murray and Alicia Suggs), Andrew Estell (wife Crystal and children Andrew Christopher Keys, Richard Nance, Ashlee Estell, Brittany Bentley, Takota Bentley-Lane, Kalab Johnson, Adonis Estell and Amanda Estell), Lorraine Estell (child Denise "Anntonette" Estell), Michelle Estell (husband Cordell and children LaShawn Estell-McDalton, Mercedes Estell-Purvis, Monet Estell-Thomas and husband Daniko, Lord Josiah Mitchell I), Denise "Marie" Estell (children Frederick Bradley, Dajion Estell, Waheed "Houston" McGowan), Mark Lee (wife Andrietta and children Zoe Lee, Christopher Hanson, Shaunti Lee and Zion Lee) and Carlos Lee (child Ashleigh Owens). A cheerful grandfather to 23 grandchildren which returned to him 37 great-grandchildren and counting; and survived by loving sister, Linder Ray Felder (son Da'voncia Felder)
There are countless nieces and nephews, a large extended family and numerous acquaintances spread across the country. His presence will be missed and cherished by all.
Herdie was preceded in death by his son, Herdie Alonso Estell; father, Houston Estell; mother, Lorene Estell; sister, Charlezetta Johnson; and brothers, Francis "Frank" and Buzz Estell.
The Estell Family would like to thank everyone for their encouraging words and prayers throughout this transition. We appreciate the love.
