Quentin "Ken" Carr, age 75, of Seward, Alaska, passed away at his home on Dec. 22, 2022, after a year of medical complications.
He was born in Turtle Lake, and raised in Washburn, N.D. He went on to teach science/math and coach in North Dakota, then in North Pole and Seward, Alaska, where he also built 10 log cabins and houses. After teaching and coaching for 32 years, he droves trucks for METCO and started a snow removal business. He coached his son's Special Olympics teams, helped to build the Lutheran church and served on various councils. He genuinely loved people and found the best in them.
He was devoted to his wife Jennifer of 45 years; their three children, Ann (Tony,) Joe and Erin; and his two grandsons Simon and Solomon.
He is survived by seven sisters, two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and hundreds of friends.
He requested no funeral, but we will be telling stories and toasting him later in January 2023. His ashes will be spread at his moose hunting grounds in Fairbanks, Alaska, and in North Dakota.
