Jan 24, 2023

Abby Lynn Harrell passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 24, 2023, as a result of a car accident. Abby was born in Robbinsdale, Minn., to Stacey Jo Mercil and Jeremy Wade Duden. She was raised by her mother. Abby's mom moved to Anchorage, Alaska, when Abby was 7 years old along with her siblings, Alexis Marie (age 2) and Camille Elizabeth (age 6 months) to be near Abby's grandparents, Joyce and James Anderson. Her experiences in Alaska were many. She loved four-wheeling, kayaking and snowmachining, and even went salmon set netting at Kasilof, dipnetting at Chitina and hooligan fishing at Twenty Mile Creek with her grandparents. She had a love of the outdoors.

Her mom, Stacey, married in 2006, and Abby's siblings grew by two, Kathryn Jo Montgomery and Nicholas James Montgomery, and Sabrina Montgomery became a bonus sibling. Abby graduated from Dimond High School. Another sibling, Matthew Joseph Mercil, was added to the family in 2016. Abby loved having a big family.

Abby was a devoted mother to her son, Alexander Mason, age 7, and her daughter, Ryen Maisie, age 3. They were the loves of her life. Family get togethers and holidays were especially important to her as well as family traditions. She developed a special bond with her best girlfriend, Heidi Short, while in high school and called her a sister. She enjoyed her job as a pizza delivery driver for Domino's Pizza. She mainly worked for the Domino's on JBER. Her friendly outlook was complimented by the many people she met at her job.

Abby is survived by her two children, Alexander Mason and Ryen Maisie; mother, Stacey Jo Mercil; siblings, Alexis Mercil, Camille Mercil, Kathryn Montgomery, Nicholas Montgomery and Matthew Mercil; bonus siblings, Sabrina Montgomery and Heidi Short; grandparents, James and Joyce Anderson; grandfather, Jeffrey Mercil; father, Jeremy Duden; half-sister, Britny Harrison; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the Lower 48. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Kehl's Legacy Funeral Home, 11621 Old Seward Highway in Anchorage. Abby's ashes will be given to family members.
