With sadness we announce the passing of our daughter, mother, sister and granddaughter, Ashleigh N. Hissong, 37, of Sioux City, Iowa. Ashleigh died unexpectedly on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023. Services were held at 5 p.m., on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue. Visitation was from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the funeral home.

Ashleigh was born on May 28, 1985, in Anchorage, Alaska, and is the beloved daughter of Scott Hissong. Ashleigh graduated from King Career Center in 2003 in Anchorage. In April 2009, Ashleigh and Justin welcomed their daughter Peyton and later wed on September 2009, as the family moved to Sioux City in 2012. She was currently employed at Gelita where she enjoyed a special relationship with her co-workers.

Bike rides with Peyton and traveling brought her joy and many weekends were spent in Yankton. She was always up for an adventure and most recently bought a small travel trailer for her and Peyton.

Ashleigh was known for her quick wit and had a great sense of humor, always making those around her laugh. Much like her taste of music, Ashleigh was an old soul.

Ashleigh is survived by her father, Scott (Lori Coverdale) Hissong; daughter, Peyton Salberg; former husband, Justin Salberg; two sisters, Tosha (John) Rode and Lerin (Chris) Fairbanks; best friend, Scott Sherman; grandparents, Nancy Hissong and George Hissong; nieces, Maddison and Camryn; and nephews, Lucas and Carson.
