Longtime Alaska resident Darrell G. Drussell, 69, on died May 9, 2023, at St. Elias Specialty Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska.

Darrell worked at Providence Hospital as a groundskeeper, in warehouse jobs and as a day laborer before his health took a turn.

Darrell loved to spend time with family during the holidays, and if he didn't see you or talk to you in a few days, he tried to tell you everything he could all in one breath nonstop. He also enjoyed riding his bike when the weather allowed. He was the youngest of nine children.

Survivors include his brother, Dale and sister-in-law Cathy of Arizona; and brothers, Don and Gary; sisters, Mary Helveston and Debbie Milligan; and sisters-in-law, Shirley and Vickie Drussell, all of Anchorage. Darrell had many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Helen Sawyer; father, Everett Drussell Sr.; mother, Beverly; sisters, Donna and Diane; and brother, Everett Jr. "Buddy" Drussell; nephews, Robert L. Helveston ll and Jerry Sanders lll; and sister-in-law, Ilona C. Drussell.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at St. Patrick's Parish, 2111 Muldoon Road in Anchorage, with Rev. Leo Walsh officiating. Burial will be at Angelus Memorial Park Cemetery.
