Dec 25, 2023
In loving memory of Cheryl Tope, age 69, who entered this world on Jan. 2, 1954, in Jordan, Mont., and departed on Dec. 25, 2023, at Providence Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. Cheryl was the daughter of Robert and Ruby Idella Singer and spent her formative years in Fort Benton, Mont.
In 1976, Cheryl ventured to Alaska, where she married Bill Tope, building a life together and raising their two children. Her career journey was marked by dedication, beginning with 28 years at Alaska Airlines before embarking on a fulfilling tenure as a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer, retiring officially in 2019.
Cheryl's unwavering spirit was evident when she faced the challenging diagnosis of ovarian cancer in 2015. Her strength and resilience shined brightly, inspiring all who knew her. Remembered as a beacon of strength, Cheryl held dear roles as a devoted friend, adoring grandmother and a woman whose radiance and fortitude touched many lives.
During moments of leisure, Cheryl found joy in spoiling her grandchildren, exploring the world alongside loved ones, conquering mountain trails and reveling in the company of those she held dear.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruby Idella Singer; and husband, Bill Tope. Cheryl's celebration of life will be held at the Beach Lake Lodge on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. An additional celebration in Montana will be scheduled for the summer months. She leaves behind her son, Jesse of Palmer, Alaska; daughter, Haley and husband Tommy Craig of Eagle River, Alaska; grandson, Jackson; and granddaughter, London. Surviving also are her brother, Kim Singer; and sisters, Carleen Kulbeck, Kathy Swensgard and Lynn Adams, alongside their families; as well as numerous devoted friends and relatives.
