Lifelong Anchorage, Alaska, resident Lori Lynn LeHew, 62, died peacefully surrounded by family on Dec. 30, 2023, while staying at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, due to diabetes and other complications.

Lori was born on July 5, 1961, in Anchorage, to Betty and Dick George. She graduated from Robert Service High School in 1980. She married Chris LeHew on July 30, 1987. She worked many jobs in her lifetime, but she was a people person and a proud caregiver for Hearts and Hands of Care and Turnagain Assisted Living until she passed. Lori loved participating in and watching sports, playing games, competition, music/singing, socializing with her friends, spending time with her loved ones and she was an avid bowler.

Her family wrote: "Lori cared deeply for her family and friends. She was a kind and loving person who gave all of herself to those she cared about and welcomed new people into her life with open arms. She was super supportive of her children, nieces, nephews and her grandchildren. Being a great mother, auntie and grandmother was one of her highest priorities."

Lori is survived by her husband, Christopher LeHew; daughte,r Ashley and husband Phil Gilbert; grandchildren, Jaimey and Maya Gilbert; son, David LeHew; brother, Mark and wife Jo George; sister, Jodi and husband Dave Forsland; sister, Tami and husband Shawn Aspelund; and many nieces and nephews and their children spread out among the United States.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Dick George; sister, Kelly Lasseter; and nephew, Jason Bowden.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Legacy Funeral Homes Witzleben Chapel. A service will be held at Legacy Heritage Chapel at Angelus, 440 East Klatt Road, Anchorage, AK 99515. A date and time for the service will be determined later.
