Genevieve "Ginger" Jacobson

May 16, 1938 -

Feb 1, 2024

Genevieve "Ginger" Jacobson was born in Chitina, Alaska, to Tonsina and Etta Bell on May 16, 1938. She went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 1, 2024, at age 85.

She moved with her family to Anchorage, Alaska, in her teen years. She married Gordon Jacobson and they enjoyed working hard and having fun such as dancing the jitter bug.

Widowed at a young age, she impressively continued managing the flying service and maintaining their fishing site at Granite Point. After selling the flying service, she devoted her life to her sons and lived a quiet, private life. She was an excellent cook and loved to invite family over for meals; she also enjoyed playing bingo. Every summer her balcony was full of flowering plants such as begonias.

Ginger was preceded in death by her father, mother, stepfather, seven brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her sons, Ronald and Kevin; sister, Deborah Barlip; and numerous nephews and nieces; as well as various relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Witzleben Legacy Funeral Home, 1707 Bragaw Street in Anchorage, on Friday, Feb. 16, 2024, at noon, and be buried at Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery.
