Nicholas Kane Wolf

Mar 28, 1982 -

Feb 7, 2024

Nicholas Kane Wolf passed away unexpectedly in the early morning of Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024.

Nicholas, known by many as Nick, was born to Monica and Kane Wolf in Sitka, Alaska, on March 28, 1982. He was born into the Kwaashk'i Kwaan clan and Dis Hit clan house. His grandma Nellie gave him the Lingit name Jaaxinaa after her cousin and best friend Jerry Nelson.

Raised primarily in Yaakwdaat (Yakutat), Nick attended Yakutat High School where he excelled at academics and basketball. He was a co-captain of the varsity basketball team and valedictorian of his graduating class. While there he met Anntonia "Toni" whom he began dating in 2004 and later married in August 2010 after they moved to Anchorage. The two of them share five beautiful children: Grace, Tyler, Adriel, Oliver and Emily. Nick also lived in Sitka, Kodiak, Oregon, and Alabama.

From a young age Nick stepped into the role of protector for everyone he was close to. Family and loyalty were everything to him. As the oldest brother he was taught the importance of these values by his aunties, uncles and grandparents whose teachings he took very seriously. Nick had such an extremely beautiful mind and knew so much about everything. His curiosity and "gift for gab" provided opportunities for people to relate to him and he had such a knack for finding commonalities with others just by taking the time to chat with them. He genuinely accepted others for who they were without judgment and because of this has formed countless relationships over the years by sharing pieces of himself.

We will forever miss his beautiful soul but we know he has gone on to continue his journey following our ancestors. Nick is predeceased by his grandparents, Nellie and Gilbert Lord, Betty and Doug Stowers, and Terry Lee Wolf; as well as cousin, Caleb Elias Irwin.

He is survived by his five children; his wife; brother and sister, Bubba and Zanna; and mother and father.

Services are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, at the Legacy Heritage Chapel at Angelus, 440 E Klatt Road Suite A, Anchorage, AK 99515. A private viewing for the family will be held at 12 p.m., with the open Celebration of Life service at 1 p.m. A reception will follow at 2:30 p.m., at the Dimond Center Hotel, 700 E Dimond Boulevard, Anchorage, AK 99515.

Please email his sister at zanna.renee@gmail.com to indicate your intentions to attend the celebration and reception, extend condolences or share memories of Nicholas for the family.

A service in his hometown of Yaakwdaat will be scheduled for later in summer 2024, where he will be laid to rest.
