Feb 8, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Matthew "Matt" Frank Loewe. He passed away on Feb. 8, 2024, in his home in Anchorage, Alaska. He was 55 years old.

He was born on Feb. 24, 1968, in Fairbanks, Alaska, to Anne Bliss and Robert Loewe. In 1970, his family moved to Anchorage. He graduated from East High School in 1986, and attended South Western College in San Diego, Calif., where he played baseball. In 1989, Matt joined the U.S. Navy, where he graduated top of his class in electronic weaponry control systems before serving a tour of duty in the Persian Gulf War. After his military service, Matt returned to Anchorage and started his roofing company, T&M Enterprises. In 1993, Matt and Tammy had their daughter, Jordan, followed by their son, Tanner, in 1994.

In fall 2002, Matt met Melissa by knocking on her front door for a roof leak. In 2008, they married in Cabo San Lucas, blending their two families. They shared 21 years of laughter and adventure, and he would often express his immense love for her through poetry.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor, Neil Diamond karaoke voice, impressive athletic talents, passion for hunting, fishing, snowmachining and skiing, and dedication to his business and family. He touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Matt is survived by his wife, Melissa; children, Tanner Loewe, Jordan Thompson (Justin), Haley Edmondson and Taylor Edmondson; grandchildren, Elaine, Charlie, Wesley and Jack; brother, Scott (Jana); mother and stepfather, Anne and Rip Bliss; in-laws, Betty and Mel Witters; and his dog, Oakley, among many other loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Robert and Annie Loewe; and dog, Abby.

We want Matt to be remembered for the many moments of joy, love, friendship, achievement and happiness that his life held.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks those interested to send donations to the American Diabetes Association. A memorial service will be held in his honor by invite. All are welcome to join Matt's family and friends at O'Brady's from 1-5 p.m. on Feb. 24, 2024.
