Joann Edith Landis

Joann E. Landis was the last surviving Ebright sister of Mifflintown, Pa., when she passed at home in Surprise, Ariz., on March 1, 2024. She was born on Oct. 23, 1929, and lived most of her life in Alaska with her husband Robert B. Landis, "Tiny," who passed away in '96. She is survived by her children, Robert E. Landis, Jane Kauffman, Jack Landis and Steven Landis, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She had been retired for many years from civil service and resided in Arizona, but always loved Alaska. Prior to retiring, she and Dad had a cabin on Nancy Lake for many years with lots of friends in the area, as well as Anchorage, Alaska. We spent many weekends with them at the cabin enjoying the wonders of Alaska. She had been able to spend many summers in Alaska during her retirement years being able to stay with her children. She was a loving mom, grandma and great-grandma, and loved whenever she was able to visit with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mom was a breast cancer survivor so, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name with the American Cancer Society.
