Alvin Charles McKay

Alvin Charles McKay was born on April 1, 1956, in Conrad, Mont., to Alvin A. McKay and Fay A. McKay. He was one of five children.
After graduating from Polson High School in Polson, Mont., in 1974, Alvin attended classes at Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont., before enlisting in the U. S. Air Force in 1975. After moving to Alaska, he proudly served in the Alaska Air National Guard. Alvin's career in the field of aviation maintenance extended from the North Slope of Alaska to the coast of Louisiana, working for multiple companies including Rowan, Era, Schlumberger and Alaska Airlines.
Alvin has many interests, including gun collecting, aircraft of any kind, motorcycles, martial arts, military history, skiing, heli-skiing and photography.
Alvin was preceded in death by his father, Alvin A. McKay; sisters, Christine McKay and Elaine McKay Clairmont; nephew, Ty McKay; and great-aunt, Dora Ratzburg. He is survived by his wife, Chrisianne McKay; mother, Fay Addington; son, Brenden (Claire) McKay and granddaughter Molly McKay and son Aaron McKay; brothers, Dee McKay and Bud McKay; brother-in-law, Dan (Barbara) Clairmont; and uncles, Ernie (Mary Lou) Ratzburg and Dayle (Doreen) Ratzburg
The family wishes to give special thanks to the Alzheimer's Resource Center of Alaska and McKinley Care LLC for their help and loving care during his extended illness.
A Celebration of Life Reception will be held at The Megan Room, 6591 A Street in Anchorage, Alaska, on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Please join us.
