Jan 5, 2024
The Levis family regretfully announces the passing of Judith Ann Levis on Jan. 5, 2024.
She was born on Dec. 18, 1940, in Attleboro, Mass. In 1962, she married Phil, her high school sweetheart. Blessed with adventurous spirits, they moved to Alaska in 1966, where they fell in love with the land and raised their children.
Judy loved to garden, read and was passionate about cooking and photography. She loved to host dinners for friends, neighbors and family.
She loved both national and international travel. From camping in Alaska and road trips across the continental U.S., to exploring England, France, India, Spain, Italy, the Caribbean, and Japan.
The last few months of her life were a whirlwind of activity. She celebrated her 83rd birthday with her daughter's family in Illinois, then flew to Washington, D.C., to spend Christmas and the new year with her son's family. Her final evening was spent playing and dancing with her grandchildren. She passed away the following morning with a tired heart full of love.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, six grandchildren and a brother.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 20, 2024, from 2-5 p.m., at the Loussac Library's Ann Stevens Room, 3600 Denali Street in Anchorage, Alaska. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local charity such as Catholic Social Services or Hope Center.
