Patrick Ryan Cashman Sr. and his wife, Sheila Aber Cashman, passed away on April 18, 2024, in Anchorage, Alaska. Patrick was born on March 22, 1964, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John Cashman and Valerie Cashman (Stockham).

Patrick and Sheila (Aber) met in 2006 at the end of the Homer Spit and shared a deep love for the outdoors, tennis and countless inside jokes. They got married in 2013, and were blessed with four beloved fur children. Together, they built the Ravens Nest Spa, which they proudly owned and operated for over a decade. Sheila was a constant source of support for Patrick during his battle with corticobasal degeneration, a neurodegenerative illness he was diagnosed with in his late 50s.

In 1990, Patrick met and later married Jessie Cashman (Mejia). Together they had three children: Kaitlin, Lauren and Patrick Jr. Patrick Sr. was a devoted father who took immense pride in every accomplishment of his children. In 1998, he and his family settled in Homer, Alaska. Patrick drew strength from the majestic view of Kachemak Bay and pursued his passion for fly-fishing.

He is survived by his mother, Valerie Cashman of Salt Lake City, Utah; children, Kaitlin Cashman Armstrong (Clifford III) and grandson Akim of Anchorage, Lauren Cashman (Julian Lake) of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Patrick Cashman Jr. (PK Woo) of Juneau, Alaska; and his beloved pup, Phoebe; sisters, Leslie Cashman, Shannon Sharp and Michelle Cashman; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Patrick is preceded in death by his father, Jack (John) Cashman; brother, John Cashman; and brother-in-law, Fred Sharp.

A memorial service to honor Patrick and Sheila will be held at the Lakefront Hotel on June 8, 2024, at 12 p.m. Additionally, a Salt Lake Service will take place in July 2024, with the date to be determined.
