Laurie Ann McWethy, age 62, passed away on July 24, 2024, in Anchorage, Alaska. Born on May 5, 1962, in Sioux Falls, S.D., Laurie was a vibrant spirit known for her love of the outdoors and creative pursuits.

Laurie's passion for life was evident in her love for riding her Harley along the scenic Seward Highway, her dedication to various arts and crafts, and her enthusiasm for attending vintage shows. A regular at the state fair each year, she cherished these moments that allowed her to indulge in her interests and spend quality time with friends and family. Laurie also found joy in camping, where she could immerse herself in nature, and singing off-key to the radio, a habit that brought laughter and lightness to those around her.

Laurie is survived by her loving spouse, Patrick McWethy; children, Jess and Maria McWethy and Ashley McWethy; grandchildren, Keith, Jordan and Hannah McWethy of Alaska; mom, Elaine Henrikson of Arizona; and dad, Al Henrikson of Alaska. Laurie was preceded in death by her sister, Patty Henrikson; father-in-law, Keith McWethy; and brother-in-law, Sean McWethy.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at Judy's Cafe on Aug. 11, 2024, at 5 p.m. Laurie's family invites all who knew her to join in celebrating her remarkable life. Her memory will also live on through her beloved dog, Zyla, who was a constant companion at her side.

Laurie's legacy of joy, creativity and adventure will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
