Maria Magaly Duarte Rendon, 74 years old, passed away on June 29, 2024.

Maria was born on Aug. 19, 1949, in Colombia, South America. She arrived in the United States in New York in 1972. Her brother, George Rendon, brought her to Alaska in 1974. She married and had one son. Sadly, Maria lost both her husband, Nino Duarte, and her son, Gregory Duarte. But, now they will be laid to rest at the same cemetery.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, at Janssen's Evergreen memorial Chapel, 737 E Street in Anchorage, Alaska, at 12:30 p.m. Following the service, Maria will be laid to rest at the Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery, 535 E 9th Avenue in Anchorage, at 2 p.m.

Maria is survived by her siblings: George Rendon, Luzdary Rendon, Melva Rendon, Jairo Rendon and Ramiro Rendon.

Maria was a beautiful woman and a kind soul and she will be deeply missed.
