Patrick James Osborne

Mar 1, 1954 -

May 28, 2024

Pat passed away on May 28, 2024, at his home in Stariski Creek, near Anchor Point, Alaska. Pat was born in Anchorage, Alaska, on March 1, 1954, son of Stanley and Honey Osborne.

Pat worked as a commercial fisherman in Bristol Bay, False Pass and Prince William Sound. He was also a journeyman glazier, managed bars and restaurants, a builder, world travel guide, music promoter and band creator/manager.

Pat was a graduate of West Anchorage High School and the University of Alaska Fairbanks. At UAF he was the Student Body President and in later years, he was the President of the UAF Alumni Association.

Pat was known for his laugh which would light up a room. He was well read and could carry on intelligent conversations about art, music, architecture and politics, among many other subjects. His real passion was travel and understanding the people of the world. Pat was a happy-go-lucky guy who cherished his friends. He once said, "I would rather have a new friend than a thousand dollars." He was always generous. On his last trip to Panama, he learned that the local school needed a computer. Pat walked to the school and donated his computer.

Pat loved Alaska and he was well known for his love of clean new cars.

Pat is survived by his sister Sheri Osborne MacLean and friends throughout Alaska and the world. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother and sister-in-law, Mike "Oz" and Dee Osborne.

Please join us at the Buckaroo Club, 2811 Spenard Road in Anchorage, on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024, at 3 p.m., to celebrate Pat's life.
