Ann (Roderick) Trahan

Former Alaska resident Ann (Roderick) Trahan passed away in Phoenix, Ariz., on June 8, 2020, following a lengthy battle with kidney disease. Ann was born on Jan. 29, 1955, in Coral Gables, Fla., and was raised in Anchorage, Alaska. She was a graduate of East High, and was a loan processor for most of her career at several financial institutions in Anchorage in the 70s and 80s, and then in California in the early 90s. Ann met her husband Michael while living in California. They moved to the Phoenix area in Arizona and had their only child, Kandace.
Ann is remembered as having a quick wit and enjoying a good laugh. She loved and enjoyed beauty all around her, and was truly devoted to her family.
She was a Journey and Steve Perry fan, as well as of the 60s group, The Monkees. She was proud of her correspondence with her favorite Monkee, Peter Tork.
Ann is survived by her husband, Michael; daughter, Kandace; her mother, Barbara; and stepfather, Don May; brother, Gary Roderick and wife Chio; sister, Lynn Van Horn and husband Walter; sister-in-law, Lisa Trahan; nephews, Donny Binek (Erin), Roderick Binek (Akiko) and Michael Roderick (Lisa); nieces, Erika Binek (Keegan) and Jessica Trounce (Dusten); and grandnephews and grandnieces, Kael and Zoe Trounce, Reagan and Avery Binek, Ethan and Joey Tobi and Logan Roderick.
She was preceded in death by her father, W. A. "Rod" Roderick. Her ashes will be interred at a future date in Anchorage at Angelus Memorial Park.
