Teresa Nelson, 63, of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away peacefully on Nov. 10, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Born on Nov. 17, 1960, in Syracuse, N.Y., Teresa dedicated her life to her family, friends and community.
A longtime resident of Anchorage, Teresa was an active and beloved member of the Anchorage Moose Lodge, where she contributed her time and energy to countless events and initiatives. Her warm smile, generous spirit and tireless commitment to supporting others made her a cherished presence among the lodge's members and the community at large.
Teresa found joy in life's simple pleasures - spending time with her family, gardening in Alaska's unique seasons, baking the best sugar cookies and sharing laughter with her boyfriend and many friends. She was known for her quick wit, boundless compassion and her steadfast belief in the importance of community.
An adventurer at heart, Teresa delighted in exploring the world. Whether it was wandering the cobblestone streets of Europe, savoring exotic dishes in bustling markets, dancing to local music or making friends in every place she visited, Teresa embraced every journey with enthusiasm and joy. Her love for new experiences and open-hearted curiosity made her travels unforgettable, not just for herself but also for those fortunate enough to hear her stories or join her adventures.
Teresa is survived by her parents, Ronald Perry and Lena Perry; two brothers, Ronald Perry (Julie) and Lance Perry; niece, Brittanee Johnson; and nephews, Ronald Perry and Tyler Perry.
A mass will be held in Teresa's honor on Dec. 27, 2024, at 3:30 p.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2111 Muldoon Road, Anchorage, AK 99504. A celebration of life will follow at 5:30 p.m. at Anchorage Moose Lodge No. 1534, 4211 Arctic Boulevard, Anchorage, AK 99503. Friends and family are encouraged to bring their favorite stories and memories to share.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Teresa's name to the Anchorage Moose Lodge or a charity of your choice.
Teresa's kindness and devotion to others will remain an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
