Elizabeth "Edie" Blair Hunter-Peacock, age 58, died on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024, at home of natural causes, in Anchorage, Alaska. Born Edith "Edie" Blair VanderPoel Fisher in Ventura, Calif., and grew up in Marion, N.Y. She attended Marion Central schools before completing her high school education at Jacksonville High School in Alabama. Her early interests included being a concert pianist, chorus, theater and technology.
She is survived by her children: Amanda Grogg, Bryant Neal (Jessica), Chris Ferri, Taylor Karns, Regan Paige Grovenstein and Daniel Eudy. She is also survived by her sisters, Alice Margaret of Monrovia, Md., and Cassandra Lynn Roberts (David) of Eva, Ala.; and brothers, Donald Montgomery of Laredo, Texas, and Andrew Case of Eva, Ala. She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Andrew Fisher of La Habra, Calif.; parents, Donald Harry Fisher and Frankie (Abernathy) Fisher of Eva; and three beloved Saint Bernard dogs. Edie's love extended to her three beloved Saint Bernard dogs, who brought her great comfort and joy throughout her life.
After a private cremation, a brief celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, at Pleasant Arbor Baptist Church, 4825 County Road 29, Piedmont, AL 36272, and will be followed by the burial of her ashes at Union Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2495 County Road 45, Piedmont, AL 36272-3021.
