Neville Abbott Jacobs of Fairbanks, Alaska, passed peacefully on Dec. 2, 2024, with the company of many loving friends. Deep gratitude is extended to all those who provided such an outpouring of love, care and support. She will be missed by many worldwide, and by her caregivers, including Bruce Nelles.
Neville was an accomplished and renowned award-winning Fairbanks artist. She was a founding and lifetime member of The Watercolor Society, now the Fairbanks Watercolor Society, and a signature member of the Alaska Watercolor Society. Her work in oils, watercolors and acrylics have been exhibited in galleries in Fairbanks, Anchorage and elsewhere, and hang in collections in many parts of the world and in the Alaska State Museum's permanent collection.
She is predeceased by her husband, Robert Jacobs; both her parents; grandson in life, but of no blood relation, Gilbert Kanayurak; and other close friends, including local Fairbanks artists Claire Fejes and Sharon Bullock.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for June 1, 2025, in the Exhibit Hall at Pioneer Park in Fairbanks, at 2 p.m., inclusive of an art show of original watercolors, oils, acrylics, various prints and memory items for sale of Neville's, with the proceeds to be donated to local service organizations, per Neville's request.
