Jo Ann Duncan

Oct 10, 1955 -

Jan 23, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Jodi Duncan. She left us on Jan. 23, 2025, at the age of 69. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her kindness and love touched the lives of all who knew her.

Jodi was born on Oct. 10, 1955, in Anchorage, Alaska. She lived a life filled with love, strength and compassion. She dedicated herself to her family and community as a caregiver. She spent her summers commercial fishing in Bristol Bay, where she was the inspiration for the painting "Laundry, Egegik 1986" from world famous artist Rie Munoz.

She always put others before herself. Through her warm heart, wise advice and gentle encouragement she was a source of comfort and inspiration to everyone around her.

She is survived by daughter, Kelsey Duncan; grandson, Brenden Duncan; sister, Susan Bissonette; and brother, Stan Bissonette. Her family will forever cherish the love and lessons she shared. She is now reunited with everyone that she has loved and valued from this earth. She is watching over us with the same love and care she has always gave.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at Angelus Memorial Park Cemetery during spring 2025. Date is TBD.

Mom, your love will remain in our hearts forever. You are loved and remembered by Amy, Molly, Miranda, Carly, Kelsey and Brenden. Rest in peace.
