It is with the deepest sorrow that the family of Kenneth M. Lord announces his unexpected passing on Sunday, March 9, 2025, in Durham, N.C.

Ken held a law degree from Cornell University, with a particular interest in natural resource management. He served as a long-time Assistant Solicitor General for the Alaska Region of the U.S. Department of the Interior. Ken had an adventurous spirit and loved the outdoors - hiking, camping, bicycling and motorcycling were all favorite activities - but family always was first in his heart.

He is survived by his wife, Satrina R. (Hilliard) Lord; son, Ryan M. Lord; daughter, Mackenzie D. Lord; and sister, Sherrill A. Lord. Ken will be remembered with abiding love by family, friends and associates.

A memorial gathering was held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 4 p.m., at Endswell Funeral Home, 407 Meadowlands Drive, Hillsborough, NC 27278. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Great Alaska Council, Boy Scouts of America, Anchorage, AK.
