On Mar. 12, 2025, Janet Litz Bradley died peacefully in Towson, MD at 89. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Alan Bradley; devoted mother of Anne Marie Bradley (Steven Berntsen), Katheryn Bradley (Gilbert Blankinship), Alana Marie Bradley (Frankin Solomon), and Richard Alan Bradley, Jr. (Katherine Moore); loving grandmother of Isabella Rae Berntsen, Francesca Rose Berntsen, Kirstin Julia Nylander, Brett Alan Berntsen, Samuel Bradley Solomon, Sonya Rose Solomon, Sylvia Rae Solomon, Nicholas John Shurvinton Bradley, and Louise Alice Shurvinton Bradley; and one great-granddaughter, Aria Jade Nylander, and many other relatives in the Baltimore area.

Janet completed her Bachelor of Arts in French at Dunbarton College and studied in Dijon, France on a Fulbright scholarship. She later obtained a Master in Romance Languages from the University of Washington. She lived in Juneau and Anchorage, Alaska for many years before returning to Baltimore, where she was born and met her husband. Janet was a lifelong advocate for civil rights, serving as executive director of the Alaska Human Rights Commission, and later, in the EEOC. Janet leaves behind many cherished friendships. A memorial celebration of her life is planned.
