John "Jay" Woodall Jr.

John "Jay" passed away at his home in Anchorage, Alaska. Jay was born in Norfolk, VA and lived in Naperville, Il before moving to Alaska with his family. He attended Lathrop High School in Fairbanks and Service High School in Anchorage. He became a journeyman electrician while living in Modesto, CA and started his family with Anita. He enjoyed playing flag football and coaching his son's baseball team. Jay returned to Alaska in 2003, to help with the family business.

As a child he enjoyed everything outdoors. The beach, water skiing, football, soccer, and baseball. In junior high and high school, he loved wrestling, football, fishing and snow skiing. He was a crew member on a professional pro racing GT1 team. He was fearless on the ski slopes and loved skydiving. Even with their track record, he was a lifelong die-hard Bears fan.

Jay is preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Shirley Keeter, John and Birdie Woodall, and Robert and Marion Kinn; his aunt, Linda Riddick; and aunt, Cathy Morgan.

He is survived by his parents, Debra and Jerry Kinn, John Woodall Sr. His siblings, Kari (Rob), Kristine, Kristen. His children, Jose (Nicki), Javier (Irasema), Jasmine, and Jamie. His grandchildren, Adrian, Elena, Lillie, Alec, Aden, Mila and Marcel. He also leaves behind many beloved aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family members and friends.

Jay will be remembered for his love of sports and family. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends and his cat Princess.

A celebration of life will be held at St. Johns United Methodist Church on Apr. 19, 2025 at 3 p.m.
