LaVerne Hilda McCumiskey, age 91, passed away peacefully on Apr. 22, 2025, in Sacramento, Calif.

Born on Feb. 21, 1934, LaVerne graduated from Santa Ana High School and went on to dedicate her home life as a wife and mother, then to her professional life to education as an elementary school office manager. Her commitment to supporting students and staff left a lasting impression on those she worked with throughout the years.

LaVerne is lovingly remembered by her husband of 45 years, John; her daughter, Tammy Meyer; and her sons, Robert Meyer and Michael Meyer. Her family was a central part of her life, and she cherished the time spent with them.

Outside of her professional and family life, LaVerne found joy in playing the piano. Music brought her comfort and expression throughout the years. For many years, LaVerne was also an avid bowler.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
