Rick Wayne Shell, born in January 1987, in Anchorage, Alaska, was the first son of Rick L. Shell and Francisca (Fran Robles).
Rick attended Bartlett High School and King Career Center, where he discovered his passion for auto body technology. After high school, Rick moved to Vancouver, Wash., where he secured his first job in auto body repair, which ultimately became his life's career.
Rick's first love was for a little red pitbull he named Tayia. Soon after, he added a white pitbull, Mia, to his family. Together, the three were inseparable companions and challenged societal biases about the breed.
Rick worked at Danny's Body where the owner expressed his immense satisfaction with Rick's performance, highlighting his exceptional skills and genuine happiness.
Rick could best be described as a loaf of the sourdough bread he loved to make: crusty on the outside, but warm and soft on the inside. This was especially on display when it came to his nephews, Elyas and Castiel—they were his online gaming buddies, RC car partners and the ones he cherished the most.
Rick had a passion for motorcycles and found great joy in riding with his close-knit group of friends. Tragically, on May 10, 2025, while riding with friends, Rick lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. He fought valiantly for eight days before succumbing to his injuries.
He is survived by his father, Rick L. Shell (Anita); his mother, Fransica (Fran) Robles; grandmother Dolores Shell; siblings Ashley, Dustin and Cory, nephews, Elyas and Castiel; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and, of course, his numerous friends whom he considered family.
While mourning his passing, we celebrate his life on June 20, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at the Government Peak Chalet, located at 10690 N. Mountain Trails Drive, Palmer, AK 99645.
