Mak Jum Nevada, Sally to her friends, passed away on June 15, 2025, in Anchorage, Alaska, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Pusan, Korea. She had one brother and several sisters. In 1958, she married Charles Nevada and they moved to Anchorage and started their family.
In 1977, the family moved to their lake-front property in Wasilla. She continued to live there for 44 years until she moved to Anchorage with her son Lawrence in the summer of 2020.
Sally loved hosting her friends for evenings of playing Korean cards, karaoke and warm sake. Every summer, fishing and dip netting with family, friends, and her beloved Pomeranian was her passion. When you heard "Nevada!! Get the net!" You knew to hustle!
Sally is dearly missed by her sons, Lawrence and Carl; daughters-in-law, Laura and Susan; niece and nephew, Sook Hee and Steve Stirling; grandchildren, Tana Skye, Shelby, Lucas, Tony, Tyler, Micheal, Jeremy and Nathan; great-nephews and -nieces, Richard, Racheal, Nam Hoon, Jung Min; and great-grandchildren, Abigail, Charlie, Haley and Clare.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; brother, Byung Joo An; sister-in-law, Kyung Yun An; nephew, Douglas An; and her Pomeranians, Genie, Pinky and Eggy.
A Celebration of Life has yet to be determined.
