Jul 14, 2025
Jason Lee Tetpon was born in Anchorage, Alaska, on Oct. 24, 1968, to Eric Tetpon Jr. and Lillian Tetpon (Hanaka) as the youngest of six children. Jason was well known for his love and dedication to family as a son, a brother and an uncle. In all three of these roles, he was a beloved caretaker who always kept his family's needs at heart. Being in the presence of friends and family was a great joy to Jason, and he likewise brought joy to everyone who knew him.

In his profession, he not only created Native art, he encouraged and supported other artists in their work.
On July 14, 2025, Jason passed away peacefully in the presence of family. He is preceded in death by his father, Eric; mother, Lillian; and brother, Warren. He is survived by his three sisters, Rita Dotomain, Judith Hinkle and Leila Smith; brother, Eric Tetpon III; and nieces and nephews, Evangeline, Steve, Faye, Jessica, Melissa, Danny, Brett, Lauren and Joey.
