James Alan Millhouse

May 13, 1967 -

Aug 28, 2024

James A. Millhouse, son, husband, father, grandfather and deeply cherished friend to many, passed quietly on Aug. 28, 2024. Jamie is survived by his father, Dennis; wife, Mindy; children, Connie, Clara, Caden and Makayla; grandchildren, Asher, Saige, Grace and Uriah; as well as siblings, Cami, Troy, Shad, Blake and Clay. He was preceded in death by his mother Connie. In his final days and hours, as in life, he was surrounded by people who loved him.

His journey started May 13, 1967, born the first of what would be six children to Dennis and Connie Millhouse. The essence of the man he became was as beautiful and colorful as it was complex. Jamie was compassionate and caring to his fellow man. He didn't know arrogance or understand it in others. He smiled with his eyes. He always remembered where he came from, a simple beginning in a less complicated world. Jamie was a leader and entrepreneur, driven tirelessly to excel at whatever he did. From the creative artistry of his years of work at Trendsetters, to the brutal elegance of his knockout punch in the boxing ring, he was a man full of interesting contradictions. He was fierce and fearless. He wanted to make his parents proud, to make his wife and children comfortable and secure, to do his very best by his friends and be there every time they needed him. Jamie lived life with a passion and vigor that was infectious. He was an accomplished business man, pilot, hunter, athlete, adventurer and all-around badass. Few of us who were close to him really understood how much he loved life until we watched his six- year fight with pancreatic cancer. We didn't know how many times a man could be knocked to the ground battered and beaten mercilessly and still rise. It is the ultimate test of character. In the ring, a fight against Jamie "Mule Kick" Millhouse was a grim proposition. When men were knocked to the ground by his overhand right they stayed down. The crowd roared for the champion, for the man still standing. That's how we will always remember him. Jamie Millhouse. Champion.
