Linda Berg

Jul 26, 2025

Linda Marie Glenn Berg was a loving – and beloved - wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. Born Aug. 22, 1959, in Camden, N.J., to Robert and Elsie Glenn, she passed away in her Eagle River home on July 26, 2025, following a long, and difficult battle with cancer. Linda's educational pursuits reflected her passion for helping others. She earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Northland College in Wisconsin, followed by a bachelor's in nursing from the University of Utah. Her commitment to healthcare led her to obtain a master's degree in nursing through the University of Phoenix. During this time, she met the love of her life, David, while hiking in Big Bend National Park, Texas. The two began their lives together in Illinois, then traveled to Wyoming, and Utah where their three daughters were born. Following their shared dream of adventure, they moved to Alaska in 1995 and knew instantly they'd found their forever home.

After experiencing their first winter in Alaska, Linda knew the family needed a winter sport to participate in. She saw the start of the Iditarod and brought home their first sled dog soon after. Over the next two decades, she could be found out on the trails with her dogs and helping her children participate in junior races.

She also had a deep love of gardening and spent much of her summer days (and nights) out in her garden. By summer's end, her yard was overflowing with beautiful flowers. She had an exceptional talent for crochet and knitting, creating countless treasured keepsakes for those she loved. Above all else, she cherished her role as a grandmother. Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Berg; and by her father, Robert Glenn. She is remembered by her mother, Elsie Glenn; daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly Berg, Kairi and Eric Dreier, Kaye Tori and Tim Pope; grandchildren, Tanner, David, Harlow, Rowan, and Tristan; and siblings, Kathleen Friz, Robert Glenn, and Michael Glenn. A memorial service to honor her life will be held on Saturday, Aug 9th at 12:00 p.m., at Riverside Community Church.
