Janet Rae Burgess

Janet was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Oct. 11, 1935, to James Ray and Edith Helen McFatridge. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, George McFatridge; her husband, Richard "Dick" Burgess; and son, Rodney Burgess.

Surviving family includes four children, RaDeena, Keith, Karalee and Todd and wife Kathy; daughter-in-law, Kristal; four grandsons, Dean and wife Jessica, Chad and wife Hannah, Scott and Luke and wife Rachel; and five great-grandchildren, Hope, Ava, Asher, Jasper and Seth.

She moved with her husband and family to Eagle River, Alaska, in August 1964, and spent her pre-retirement years teaching elementary school and being the school librarian.

She was an active member of the First Baptist Church Eagle River where she served as organist, pianist, church librarian and Sunday school teacher.

Her family and friends mourn her passing but rejoice in knowing that she is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and waiting for the grand reunion when all God's children come home.
