Robert was born in Tacoma, Wash., on Jan. 2, 1936. In 1957, he graduated from Seattle University with a B.A. in electrical engineering. While in college, he spent summers interning in Alaska with the CAA, which later became the FAA. He took a job with the CAA in 1958 until his retirement from the then FAA in 1990. On Feb. 15, 1958, he married Mildred Yvonne Kerkof in Seattle, Wash. They soon moved to Alaska and purchased land in Chugiak under the Small Tract Act. They built a home and raised nine children: Edward, Charlotte, Angela, Andrew, Matthew, David, Sylvia, Remi and Christine. They shared a love of the outdoors hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed maintaining the house and vehicles. On April 23, 1996, Mildred died of cancer. On April 11, 1999, he married Frances Forest with whom he lived happily until her death on Oct. 21, 2019. As he was beginning to suffer from Alzheimer's-related dementia and needed increasing assistance with day to day activities, it was decided that one of his children would have to live with him. For about a year Christine took care of him, then Andrew took on his daily care until his death.
His priorities were always God, his Catholic faith, family and country.
He is survived by eight of his children, Edward Morrison (Sue), Sr. Charlotte Robert a Daughter of St. Paul, Matthew Morrison (Dianne), David Morrison (Carolyn), Sylvia Morrison, Remi Morrison (Shelley) and Christine Morrison; as well as many grandchildren.
